The first run of the DayOne accelerator kicked off yesterday, 24th January at the DayOne Lab.

day one Workshop

The accelerator will help the companies Noul, Advancience and Aurteen to develop sustainable businesses that will have an impact on children’s health. You can read more about the companies here. And at noul.kr, aurteen.com and advancience.ch

The accelerator will run from now until mid-june and will embed the three companies in the Basel ecosystem as they define and test their hypotheses around their business model. There will also be workshops, go and see events as well as public pitches. The first public pitch event is at Future Health on 28th of January. https://www.nzz-futurehealth.com/.

At the kick-off the companies built a great team spirit with the coaches: Aurelie Moser from Bambooster, Egle Thomas and Adrian Sprenger from BaselArea as well as other members of the DayOne team helping to provide a warm welcome and support. The program will follow a combination of the Strategyzer Business Model Canvas to define and test the hypotheses of the business and then Lean startup methodology to test key assumptions in the real world. The highlight of the first day and a half was a masterclass in pitching from our own Thomas Brenzikofer.

We plan to release all of our material here on the dayone website so that anyone can follow along and see what we are up to and hopefully learn a little and even better in the spirit of continuous learning can give us some feedback as to how we could improve!
