Horizon 2020 and Eurostars are European programs which allow Swiss startups and SME to apply for grants with direct funding. Proposal ideas in research and development need to be highly innovative, ready for scale up and looking for international markets. Susanne Daniel, Euresearch Company Advisor for NWCH, came along to the DayOne Accelerator to share her insights into these funding opportunities available to startups and SMEs. We were also joined by members of the Technologie Park including individuals experienced in both evaluating and executing EU-grants.
The teams learnt that there are a lot of opportunities for funding their research and innovation development but that project ideas need to fit exactly to the grants’ objectives. As a first step, potential applicants carefully should check that match. Euresearch is the organization in Switzerland which is mandated by the Swiss state to give advice, also on an individual basis.
