DayOne Experts: lessons from emerging markets in precision medicine
The concept of Precision Medicine – or the combination of Diagnosis, Healthcare Interventions and Feedback loops enabled by Digital Health – has a central role in improving healthcare systems in both mature and emerging markets; albeit with very different starting points.
In mature markets, it can be seen as a necessary approach to improve our legacy and often fragmented healthcare environment.
In emerging markets, Precision Medicine has the opportunity to be a unique accelerator of the development of local healthcare capabilities and capacity – often leapfrogging the efforts of mature markets (think mobile vs. fixed line telephony).
In this DayOne experts session, taking place on 27 June 2017 at SUD (Burgweg 7) in Basel, starting from 18:00, we would like to highlight Precision Medicine initiatives in emerging markets and the impact they are having locally and identify what can be applied to our own legacy healthcare systems and approach to innovation.
