DayOne Health 4.0 accelerator’s 5th edition is underway, focusing on AI (Artificial Intelligence), data and digital solutions to revolutionize clinical development and healthcare delivery. Out of 109 applicants from 35 countries, 15 startups and scaleups have been selected.
Meet the healthcare innovators
Across 4 main areas with the potential to reinvent clinical trials, the following startups were chosen as winners:
- Enhancing patients’ identification, access, and enrollment: Ancora.ai AG (Switzerland), Briya (Israël), epHealth (UK / Brazil), FindMeCure (UK / Bulgaria) and InSilicoTrials (Italy).
- Advancing digital and imaging endpoints: machineMD, Risklick, and AI in epilepsy and sleep (all from Switzerland).
- Elevating patient experience: Albus Health (UK), Avegen (UK), MicroX Labs Inc (USA), Stitch (UK) and Presentient Technologies Ltd (UK).
- Streamlining operations: CliniNote (Poland) and Docuply (Germany).
These ventures are currently in Phase 1 of the acceleration program, working on (re)shaping their value proposition to pharma and working on their business models to realize potential collaborations with industry players. They can also look forward to establishing valuable connections with fellow startups, mentors, experts, and DayOne Health 4.0 sponsors.
The acceleration journey
In mid-September, the winners kicked off their acceleration journey with a 2-day bootcamp at the Novartis campus in Basel, followed by the world leading Intelligent Health AI conference around AI in medicine. These events provided a unique opportunity for the cohort to bond and exchange ideas and get immersed in the pharma industry through a mix of active workshops, pitching, strategic foresight and insights sessions with pharma executives.
At the end of November, five startups will advance to Phase 2, where they will harness their strengths, work towards achieving pivotal milestones, and determine the optimal strategic fit and business model for scaling up. They will further receive tailored mentoring and expert support, as well as in-kind services offered by DayOne and its supporting sponsors, to prepare them for collaborations with the pharma industry.
