New medtech ventures foster innovation in the ecosystem of the Jura: Meet the 2022 cohort of our DayOne Tech Accelerator!
We are very excited to announce the winners of our DayOne Tech accelerator in the canton of Jura.
We have been impressed by the diversity of the dozen applications received from all around the world. After the last pitch in front of our selection committee on June 13th, three winners were selected to join our customized acceleration program. DayOne Tech will support the winners with CHF 260’000. Half of the funds will be used for professional services to help with the most important – usually quite complicated – basics such as regulatory affairs and quality assurance or intellectual property. A major part of the funds will be a cash stake offered to start-up founders to develop their venture.
We are delighted to announce the three first ventures chosen to participate in our 12-month acceleration program running from August 2022 to July 2023. We are proud to support them on their ambitious journey.
Meet the startups
CNS Therapy – pain treatment without medication
Chronic pain can be life-altering. CNS Therapy has developed the ability to make chronic pain patients pain-free using neuromodulation and behavioral therapy. No medication, surgery, implants, or cannabis are needed.
CNS Therapy AG’s first product is Systolic Extinction Therapy (SET), a novel interactive behavioral therapy combined with a patented medical device that has proven effective in randomized controlled trials for the treatment of chronic pain. The Moodle choreographed treatment and stimulation allowed 82% of female fibromyalgia patients to maintain pain freedom at the 12-month follow-up. The standard intervention takes 5 weeks with 2 sessions per week (20 hours).
The SET protocol is based on two prongs – physiological – strengthening the autonomic nervous system and psychosocial – learning, behavioral modification, coping, pacing, stress re-evaluation, attitude control, mindfulness, acceptance, cognitive restructuring, and emotional techniques. The development goal is to take the device from the University to commercialization.
CNS Therapy has a mission to
- Raise sufficient funds and obtain medical device approvals for the SET device.
- Manufacture the SET device and continue research on the therapy.
- Sell and distribute the device and therapy in Switzerland.
The company will relocate its corporate headquarter from Zug to Delémont to be at the heart of the medtech ecosystem.

About the Acceleration program
We are kicking off the Acceleration program for DayOne Tech on August 16, 2022, with an intensive first week. During this week, startups will start their IP and RAQA journey with professionals first, be introduced to their super coach to support the startup, and get connected to the canton of Jura, research institutes, and key actors within our ecosystem. They will get the opportunity to pitch their project on August 16, 2022, to gain visibility.
The 3 teams will benefit from 12 months of customized services by professionals on the IP, RAQA, development, and business sides on top of other acceleration services (super coach, cash and in kind, office space, access to ecosystem, etc).
While the acceleration is running, we are already evaluating the applications for the next round. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this medtech accelerator and apply by September 30th!
