Partner Event «Day One – The Future of Health»

An Innovation Workshop by the Precision Medicine Group Basel Area

Innovators, scientists, entrepreneurs, industry experts, researchers, software developers and IT specialists meet on «Day One» of the Basel Life Science Week to explore the future of health and opportunities for Precision Medicine.

When: Monday, 19th September, 09:00 to 18:00
Where: Halle 7 and Launchlabs, Gundeldingerfeld, Dornacherstrasse 192, Basel

Healthcare as we know it will be very different in 10 to 20 years from now. What can we expect of the future? How will we improve disease prevention and therapies? What is driving this change? How will we get there? What and who will be left behind? Why should Basel Region play a leading role in this transformation? What does it take to make Precision Medicine happen? The Precision Medicine Group Basel Area invites you to a full-day workshop to explore the future of healthcare and start answering these questions. This will not be your «usual» conference. The day will be structured with opportunities to hear from Thought leaders and also to engage and work with your peers in the room.

What can you expect from «Day One»?

  • Thought Leaders will share their insights on some of the major trends impacting healthcare and Life Sciences (incl. precision medicine, digital health and mobile health, etc.). Confirmed speakers include:
    • Dr. B. Munos – FasterCures, InnoThink USA
    • Dr. Zayna Khayat – Health Innovation, MaRS , Canada
  • Together in groups we will reflect on challenges, co-create ideas and sketch out solutions that contribute to the future of healthcare
  • Entrepreneurs and innovators have the opportunity to discuss and debate their solutions among their peers and industry experts (see «Call for Input» below)
  • Get exposed to new approaches to innovation: Design Thinking, Agile, Lean Method, Growth Hacking etc.
  • Last but not least: Get inspired, expand your network and yes… have fun!

How can you contribute to «Day One»?

As part of the day there will be the opportunity for the audience to get feedback on existing ideas. If you have an idea, a project or an initiative that you think will contribute to improve healthcare that you would like to explore further with the members of the audience, please submit it to Thomas Brenzikofer (thomas.notexisting@nodomain.combrenzikofer@baselarea.notexisting@nodomain.comswiss) providing

  1. A short description of idea/project/initiative
  2. Stating why it excites you
  3. And how you will succeed

The «Day One» team will then get in touch with you with further information on the day.

How can you be part of «Day One»?

The workshop is free of charge. There are no prerequisites. All backgrounds are welcome. We aim at having a broad mix of talent in the room and we particularly welcome healthcare professionals. Space is limited, so please register now using the form in the column on your right side.

Let’s design the next step in healthcare together!

We are looking forward to meeting you on «Day One», on 19th of September, at Halle7 and LaunchLabs.
